I have often seen mom-friends of mine post on social media sites about the travesties of a “blow-out.” I generally assumed it was due to their own inability to properly maintain their automobile. A tire isn’t just going to blow out for no reason. Surely they let the tread get way too worn or were not paying attention to the changes in air pressure that occur inside a tire, especially as the seasons and outside temperatures change. And while I understand having a flat tire is very inconvenient and a blow-out on the highway could be dangerous, it’s not that bad. Just pull over and call AAA. They’ll take care of it. I mean, what’s the big deal?

Wait… What’s that now? They weren’t talking about tires? They’re talking about diapers? That’s… that’s… disgusting.

For the record, Huggies diapers are crap (pun totally intended). We’re generally a Pampers household here, but when those ran out and we already had a package of Huggies that someone had bought us, we figured, “why not?” A diaper is a diaper, right? Wrong. It doesn’t matter how snugly the diaper is affixed or how carefully aligned the leg ruffles are, Ted will blow poop out the leg holes and/or up his back when wearing a Huggies diaper. Every. Single. Time.

Yes, I have now learned (repeatedly) that this is the type of blow-out all my mom-friends were talking about. My apologies for thinking that you were all just careless when it came to auto maintenance. It is unfortunate, however, that AAA will not come to help with this sort of blow-out. Believe me, I’ve tried. They said it wasn’t part of the plan. I told them they should consider it. Probably make way more money cleaning up blow-outs than changing flats.

  1. I had a good laugh. I remembered blow-outs that you had as an infant. Not pretty. I guess this is just pay back. Have fun “Daddy”. Enjoy every minute. Love, Mom
