And a new start. It’s time to get TheDailyTed back on track. The last couple of months have been hectic in Ted’s household. We bought a house, sold a condo, moved, and are making our way to being mostly unpacked. The new house has lots of space for Ted to play and roam. Yeah, that’s right, he’s mobile now. It felt like he was forever on the verge of crawling without actually being able to get anywhere. But now he rolls, scoots, wiggles, crawls, and climbs up, on, and over anything he possibly can. Since there’s no furniture for the formal living room yet, that has become Ted’s playroom. And since we haven’t finished unpacking from the move yet, there are plenty of boxes around to keep him somewhat contained in one area.
Box walls seem to work quite well especially since we haven’t picked up any of those new-fangled baby gates. I know, I know. Baby-proofing. We’re on it. First up were the electrical sockets. I don’t know why, but Ted was drawn to the outlets on the walls like a moth to a flame, but ya know, without the same crispy end result. So, we’ve got the little plastic do-dads in any Ted-accessible outlets. We also have the cabinet locks and the door knob covers but since Ted seems to be showing himself as a climber, it’s the furniture straps that are next on the installation to-do list. I think we’ll have to work quick too as crawling and pulling himself up to a standing position happened at nearly the same time. He already tries to get his feet moving like he wants to walk, but he does so with his hands on the floor so it’s more of a downward dog yoga pose, but animated.
Well, Ted’s in bed and now that the home theatre is hooked up again, it’s time for some relaxing. There’s plenty of more unpacking to do tomorrow.
